Project work often spans Creek's entire campus, in classrooms and outdoors. It's a tremendous undertaking and requires the concerted efforts of our entire IB faculty, research scientists and parents like you to make the day a success.
Invasive Species and the Spruce Creek Scrub Habitat is the theme for 2025-2026. Projects take between 10 to 12 hours to complete and account for 15% of students' third quarter science grades. More importantly, completion of the project qualifies students to sit for their IB Science Test. And all participants (including parent volunteers) get a tee shirt to forever commemorate the event!
Students will work in pairs within their personal fields of study to investigate four field sites: forestry, soils, pond and wildlife. Each group is also responsible for contributing to the global good by removing one trash bag of invasive plants from the local environment.
