About this Event
Artists, performers, musicians, photographers, creatives of all kinds!
Do you feel like you need space and equipment to make the things you want to create?
This 4 day event aims to explore what equipment is already available behind the doors of organisations and in the storage rooms and wardrobes of artists from across St Helens. We're asking you to bring a piece of equipment that you use regularly in creating your work, to show other artists how you use it, and potentially to create something new together.
In return for bringing your equipment, you get access to what other artists have available, get to meet people from a range of backgrounds and hopefully leave with new inspiration and ideas.
Check the agenda below for the plan for each of the days.
What is Collaborate?
Collaborate is an event that is held twice a year as part of Artists Together - the artist development programme from St Helens Arts in Libraries. It is a practical opportunity to meet and work alongside other artists for a number of days. Each Collaborate has a different focus, the July 2024 was 'Publications', this one is 'Equipment'
Research into equipment
This event is longer than usual Collaborate Events, because we have some additional funding support. Artists Gee Collins and Claire Weetman are researching what equipment and studio space artists, performers, musicians and all creatives might find useful to have access to in St Helens.
Don't miss Day 1
This event listing covers days 2, 3 and 4, which will take place at Haydock Street in St Helens. Day 1 will take place at The World of Glass and will show artists what equipment is available there and how you might access it in future.
Funders
This project is part of a commission awarded by St Helens Council's Arts Service. This project is part-funded by the UK Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund with the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority as the lead authority and part funded through Arts Council England. We will work in partnership with St Helens Borough Council, Kindred LCR CIC, St Helens College, and St Helens Borough creative practitioners from December 2024 to March 2025.
