For his superb band The Kings of Swing, trumpeter Colin Steele has pulled together a stellar line-up of top Scottish swinging jazz musicians: Colin is joined by Martin Foster (clarinet and saxophone), Phil O'Malley (trombone), Campbell Normand (piano) and Jim Drummond (drums). The bassist is yet to be confirmed.With a traditional three-horn front line, they'll be drawing from the likes of Louis Armstrong and Kenny Ball. Expect familiar old tunes but played with vibrancy and freshness, guaranteed to raise the spirits and have you tapping your feet -or even dancing- in no time!
The Edinburgh Jazz 'n Jive Club offers on Fridays live Jazz music in a relaxed club house atmosphere, with a bar and an excellent, wooden dance floor. The music is generally suitable for dancing Foxtrot and Swing (Lindy Hop, Shag, Balboa). Come along to listen to superb Jazz and to dance the evening away!
No need to book in advance, just come along! The entry fee of £10 (£9 for members) can be paid at the door by card, cash or cheque. The main entrance is from Bangholm Terrace, with step-free access from Warriston Gardens corner Inverleith Row.
