Who is this workshop for?
- Mamas and their children ages 5 years and up
- Childcare support provided for children younger than 5 years old (must RSVP, limited capacity)
Workshop Purpose/Intention:
This piece will teach families how to use two mediums Decoupage, paint brushes & acrylic paint. The final piece will have its own personal message as I will provide examples on what a colibrí means to people.
What to Expect:
Bring a picture of someone you love or have lost. No bigger than 5x7. If not, we will provide the hummingbird cut out.
No prior knowledge or skill required. Materials provided.
Checkin: 10-10:30am

About the Artist Facilitator:
Hola, I am a mother of 4 holding down the fort in my home. Never in my life did I imagine being a stay home parent, especially with how driven I am. Currently, my status has changed and it has been hard to adjust. My children need me and therefore, I put a hold on my career. I have become my children’s driver to their therapies and sports. At times, I find myself lost and the only thing that brings me at ease is my passion for arts and crafts.
I love to paint with acrylic, decopauge & pastels. When my kids go to sleep, I find myself painting on our cultural atuendos or on Talavera pots. It helps me aligned and center myself for the next day. Not only do I enjoy painting (alone) I also enjoy doing crafts with my kid. Our favorite is making ojo de dioses with popsicle sticks and yarn. My 8yr old loves to make them and give them out; it helps with her anxiety. Art is an important highlight in our home and I am excited to bring it into your home.
