Join WATTS (the Winchester Area Temporary Transitional Shelter) for a winterrific family-friendly fundraiser walk around downtown Winchester! Coldest Night of the Year (CNOY) takes place in participating cities all over North America on Saturday February 22 2025. WATTS is the charity partner hosting the walk for Winchester again this year and this is our third year doing so! Last year over 800 walkers came out and took to the streets in support of our local men and women who are experiencing homelessness - join us and be a part of the movement!
Registration is completely FREE so grab your family friends neighbors or co-workers; businesses schools clubs groups churches organizations etc. - ANYONE can form a team and walk with us. Fundraising for WATTS is encouraged but not required - it's easy though: you simply ask folks to "sponsor" you for walking in CNOY Winchester and the impact for WATTS multiplies. (You can also earn the 2025 CNOY toque (beanie) if you meet certain fundraising minimums!)
Choose between the 2k or 5k; both routes go along sidewalks through downtown Winchester on the 22nd (and it is a walk not a race so no pre-training needed!) The walk starts and ends at Braddock Street UMC.
Also FREE FOOD: Come back inside after you complete the walk for our free "soup kitchen" with delicious soups provided by local food vendor Billy Sous!
So bundle up and grab your boots - step outside the warmth and comfort of home for a few hours on the evening of February 22 and experience a little bit of what it might be like to be homeless having to walk around in the dead of winter. You’ll be glad you did "because it’s cold out there" but you're doing something about it and making a difference.
