Cold War Foodways: From Bunkers to Space

Food historians Bruce Kraig and Cynthia Clampitt of the Culinary Historians of Northern Illinois discuss how the Cold War changed foodways in the United States and the world. The fear of nuclear attack and the belief that an abundance of food would help win the war, coupled with the race to space, impacted food thereby every aspect of American lives. This event is a partner event with the Culinary Historians of Northern Illinois.
