This training provides participants with knowledge and skills to implement cognitive processing therapy (CPT) for PTSD/ trauma.
About this Event

At the conclusion of this training workshop, participants will be able to:

1. describe PTSD symptoms and theory underlying CPT

2. list pre-treatment issues and recommended assessment measures

3. demonstrate knowledge and skills required to IMPLEMENT CPT

an evidence-based psychotherapy for PTSD

4. describe the different formats of group CPT and when they would be

appropriate

The target audience for this training includes psychologists, social workers and counselors, mental health clinicians, physicians, clinical nurse specialists and nurse practitioners.

About the Presenter:

Carie Rodgers, PhD, ABPP

Biography

Carie Rodgers, PhD, ABPP, currently serves as the Associate Director of the Education and Dissemination Unit at the VA Center of Excellence for Stress and Mental Health in San Diego California and is an Associate Clinical Professor of Psychiatry at the UCSD School of Medicine.

She has been a National Trainer and Consultant for the VA's Cognitive Processing Therapy initiative since its inception in 2007 and is a consultant for the National Center for PTSD Consultation Program. She has provided training and consultation to hundreds of mental health providers in the VA and the Department of Defense, as well as in the community.

Dr. Rodgers has also served as a Consultant for the VA's national roll-out of Prolonged Exposure Therapy and was the Director of the VA San Diego Military Sexual Trauma Program.

She received her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology in 2000 from the University of Oregon and completed her internship and postdoctoral training at UCSD and the San Diego VA. A licensed Clinical Psychologist in the state of California (PSY18925), Dr. Rodgers is also Board Certified in Clinical Psychology by the American Board of Professional Psychology.

Her research interests include gender differences in the impact of trauma and clinical intervention and dissemination research focusing on PTSD treatments.

REGISTRATION - participants may register on-line. Full refund is available up to June 09, 2022 at 5pm.

14 Continuing Education Credits will be provided to Social Workers. In order to receive continuing education credit participants must sign in at the beginning of the training, and complete a course evaluation at the end of the training.

Lotus Consulting, PLLC, provider #1806, is approved to offer social work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) Approved Continuing Education (ACE) program. Organizations, not individual courses, are approved as ACE providers. State and Provincial regulatory boards have the final authority to determine whether an individual course may be accepted for continuing education credit. Lotus Consulting, PLLC maintains responsibility for this course. ACE provider approval period (TBD). Social Workers completing this course receive 7 continuing education credits.
