Ventura, Calif. — The Ventura Police Department is partnering with the Autism Society Ventura County to host Coffee with a Cop, an event dedicated to raising awareness and support for indi-viduals and families affected by autism. Join police officers on Wednesday, April 9, 2025, from 8:00 – 9:30 a.m. at Café Ficelle in midtown Ventura, located at 2126 E. Main St.In honor of National Autism Acceptance Month, Ventura Police officers are selling limited-edition t-shirts and stickers throughout April, with all proceeds benefiting the Autism Society Ventura County and its programs. Community members can support the cause by attending the event, purchasing a t-shirt or sticker while supplies last, or making a direct donation at AutismVentura.org.
“As a parent of a child with autism, this initiative is incredibly meaningful to me,” said Officer Aric Almaguer. “Since 2023, we’ve raised nearly $5,000, and it’s been amazing to see the community come together in support of local families. I’m hopeful that this year we can raise even more, continuing to make a positive impact and foster greater awareness and acceptance.”
This offering provides an opportunity for community members to connect with local officers in a relaxed setting—no speeches, no agenda, just meaningful conversations over coffee. Residents, students, and families are encouraged to stop by, ask questions, and build relationships with their police department.
“The Ventura Police Department’s partnership is invaluable in raising awareness and support for individuals living with autism,” said Ashley Pope, President of Autism Society Ventura County. “Every conversation, every connection, and every dollar raised helps make our community more inclusive and supportive.”
