Elevate your coffee appreciation to new heights with "Barista Skills: Level 1" - a class from our Foundational Series. In these sessions, we help you reach your second state of learning.
This beginner's class is designed to build a foundational level of knowledge for professional equipment, espresso tasting, espresso brewing, and milk steaming in the style of a true barista. You'll be trained like baristas all over the world in standardized methodologies. Join us at our West Ashley location to dive into the world of coffee flavors, aromas, and complexities, where you will develop your palate and learn basic espresso and milk steaming troubleshooting techniques.
Experience:
- Taste and identify under, even, and overextraction
- Get to know the professional process of "dialing in"
- Learn professional protocols for espresso brewing
- Learn professional protocols for milk steaming
- Be a part of a coffee community
About Your Instructor:
Our Director of Education and Head of many of our operations, Brianna Berry, is also owner of Talk Coffee to Me Consulting and Charleston Coffee Crawl. She has been featured in numerous publications - including Zagat's 30 Under 30 - and she has coached thousands of professionals and coffee enthusiasts across the Carolinas. Throughout her career, she has taken her own fair share of coursework and has certifications in Advanced Espresso & Coffee Making, Latte Art, Brewing, Roasting, Barista, Sensory, Green Buying, and Coffee Quality Control. She believes in accessible and digestible coffee knowledge and looks forward to sharing her passion with you. As one of the most enthusiastic educator's we know, we are lucky to have her on our team!
