Coffee & Convo: Legacy, Entrepreneurship, and the Civil Rights Connection

This month’s Coffee & Convo will be a special experience! We’ll gather for a fireside chat with the Hendricks family to explore the deep connection between the historic 4th Avenue Business District and the Civil Rights District. Together, we’ll learn about their family’s legacy through Wee Care Academy and the Harambe Room, and hear powerful stories of their father’s entrepreneurial journey.

Following the conversation, participants will enjoy a guided tour of the A.G. Gaston Motel. This tour will not only highlight Dr. Gaston’s critical role in the Civil Rights Movement but also his lasting impact on creating entrepreneurial opportunities for Birmingham’s Black business community.
