CoFET-Retreat to Hilo - BiG iSLAND Hawai'i, USA
Join us for a fantastic coffee farm experience tour and retreat (CoFET-Retreat) at the USDA-ARS Daniel K Inouye U.S. Pacific Basin Agricultural Research Center in Hilo, Hawaii, USA from November 3rd - 12th, 2024. The event over all objective is to deepen scientific research development cooperation between AFRICA and Hawai'i on coffee, cocoa, sugarcane, and horticultural commodities of economic significance to rural smallholder farmers and, taking stock of efforts towards climate change ruin amelioration.
BiG iSLAND CoFET-Retreat is holding an industry-wide cup profiling event for smallholder coffees in AFRICA and Hawai'i for niche market traceability, and trade negotiations; and, the segment apex shall be red carpeted by online auction of the emerging exclusively reputational and most competitive smallholder coffee micro-lot collections (150 - 400 coffee tree plot-farm enterprises) to batch roasters around the world.
CoFET-Retreat is all about connecting, learning, and having a great time together. Get ready for exciting activities, insightful workshop training courses in a) Mitigating spread of coffee leaf rust (CLR) in coffee fields and, b) Fine grafting and tissue culture protocols for mass clonal propagation in Arabica coffees.
