About this Event
Add Coding to Your After School Activities!

Queen City Robotics Alliance is a Charlotte non-profit offering after school programs in coding and robotics to students in grades 4-8. Our after-school STEM programs deliver collaborative, hands-on, project-based learning through products like the LEGO® Learning System.

Through our live, interactive group classes, students learn the fundamentals of coding and develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Learning computer programming helps prepare your child for the future, regardless of the career path they end up choosing, even liberal arts or life sciences.

Our After School STEM Program
  • Engages students through project-based exercises
  • Employs collaborative problem solving that involves all participants
  • Produces results that reflect high levels of creativity and ownership
  • Promotes college and career readiness

Bringing Math & Science to Life With a LEGO® Robot!
  • Build a LEGO robot for optimum navigation
  • Use beams, frames, pins, connector blocks, and axles to create sturdy structures
  • Place and calibrate sensors for optimal robot functionality
  • Program a robot to respond to commands and react to different environments

Our program will equip your child with confidence and critical skills valuable in any future career. Here at QCRA, we want to do more than just teach coding. We want to inspire all girls and boys to use their talents and abilities to think outside the box, to channel their ideas in a creative way and most importantly, to have fun!

Many devices can operate LEGO EV3 classroom app. The easiest way to find out whether your device works with the LEGO program is to find and download the app. Devices that can download and install the software will likely work.

Need a laptop?

E2D sells high-quality refurbished laptops for typically less than $100. Feel free to contact us at [email protected] if you have any questions or concerns about the hardware requirements.

Waitlist

A waitlist will be started once the program has reached the maximum number of participants. If a vacancy occurs, participants will be notified in the order in which they were added to the list, and full payment will need to be made prior to attending the program. Please contact [email protected] for questions regarding the waitlist or for more information about this or future classes.

Transportation

QCRA does not offer transportation at this time. It is the responsibility of the parent or legal guardian for transportation to the recreation center and to see that the student gets safely to and from the classroom. Classes start promptly at 6:30 pm.

Looking Ahead - Future Class Dates
  • Mondays and Wednesdays from February 14 – March 7
  • Tuesdays and Thursdays from February 15 – March 8
The Fun Doesn't Stop Here

QCRA leverages FIRST Robotics to help youth learn life and work place skills in teamwork, technology, business, and communication. Our robotics programs combine the excitement of sport with the rigors of science and technology to help middle and high school aged girls and boys learn to solve real world problems. Our robotics teams design, build, and code robots that compete in an alliance format against other FIRST robotics teams.

Join one of our robotics teams to continue gaining STEM skills in a fun collaborative and encouraging environment.
