Code the Curb: A Data Hacking Showcase

New source of parking availability and pricing data

• Arlington County’s Performance Parking Pilot produces 24-7 real-time parking occupancy data from close to 4,500 metered parking spaces in our commercial corridors. Price data is also available - and all of these data are available through an API.
• There are existing data tools the project makes available as proof of concept (ParkMobile “Availability” layer; eXactnav app; CurbIQ website). However, we want to know what we are missing. How else can this data be used or displayed? What problems can you solve with this new source of data?

Arlington County wants to see what you can do!

• We invite all interested parties to consider ways to use the API data. The event provides an opportunity to show off your skill and creativity to a relevant peer and professional audience. We welcome all ideas - big, small, and in between! Groups and individuals are both welcome to present your ideas.
• All are welcome, whether you want to present or not! This will be an afternoon of fun, networking, and nerding out over data tools for civic good.

If you indicate you are interested in the data hack, we will follow up with more information about how to submit materials prior to the event.
