Please note that the details (content, process, and outcomes) of these sessions are all works in progress and are subject to refinement and change. More details and a schedule of events will be published in the coming days. Similar to session 01 on the 28th of July, there will likely be a break/intermission between 5-6pm and some entertainment/music in the evening to celebrate. Stay tuned for the programme.
This session will begin by providing an opportunity to assess what hasn't worked in terms of overall festival safety, where there have been oversights or missteps, or where there is a need for redress. We'll open up into a broader community dialogue, allowing us to address crucial questions such as: As a community, what are we collectively taking responsibility for in terms of safety, inclusivity, and ethical behavior?
Following this important discussion, and building on our July gathering, we'll delve deeper into our Code of Ethics and other processes and protocols essential for ensuring safety at our festivals and in our wider community. Our primary focus will be on refining our Code of Ethics and developing robust safety protocols. We'll explore how these guidelines can be effectively implemented and upheld across all aspects of our festival experience.
This is an open space for honest dialogue. We welcome constructive feedback and ideas for improvement as we work together to enhance the safety and well-being of all festival attendees.
This gathering is another step in our ongoing journey to nurture a culture of care and accountability in all aspects of our lives, with impacts beyond Earth Beat.
We continue to seek community members who have experience, knowledge, insight, and passion about fostering safety and accountability in festival spaces and beyond. If you feel called to contribute your expertise and energy to this ongoing initiative, we warmly invite you to hold the space with us in this crucial work.
