About this Event
The Nelson Tasman Youth Workers Collective in partnership with Ara Taiohi presents Code of Ethics training for Youth Workers in Aotearoa.
Code of Ethics training is designed for youth workers but is also relevant to all individuals working with young people and provides guidance to keep workers and the young people they work with safe.
The Code of Ethics provides an agreed set of guidelines for youth work in Aotearoa to ensure that youth work is carried out in a safe, skilled, ethical manner. Developed around the six principles of the Youth Development Strategy Aotearoa, the Code is comprised of 27 clauses critical to effective, ethical youth work practice and practical examples of how they might apply in youth work.
It's not just what you can't do. It's about growing in solid youth development practice for our rangatahi and celebrating the unique and necessary approach that defines youth work. A must for all youth workers, or any person working with young people to up skill in positive youth development and develop their ethical practice.
The training is provided by Jane Zintl and Whetu Campbell from Ara Taiohi, and is free to attend, made possible thanks to support from the Department of Internal Affairs. Spaces are limited so get in quick to reserve your ticket. Note you/your organisation will be liable for an administration fee of $50 pp if you reserve a ticket and do not attend without providing 48 hours notice.
Jane and Whetu are also delivering Mana Taiohi training on Thursday11 March.
