COCKTAILS 101 - THE ART OF MIXING COCKTAILS
In this hands-on class we will cover the history and the evolution of the cocktail and all the basics for their preparation. You will have the opportunity to make (and enjoy) a variety of classic cocktails. By exploring their base structural nature you'll leave able to apply what you've learned to leveling up your own creative cocktails at home.
Do you know the difference between a hawthorn and a julep strainer? You soon will.
In this class we cover:
- A History of Cocktails, from the 1800's to the present day
- How to make the essential cocktails that every bartender or aficionado should know
- The tools of the trade, and how to use them properly
- Technique: Stirring, shaking, straining, etc
- Ingredients: Spirits, Syrups, Bitters, etc
- Philosophy: A cocktail is so much more than the sum of its parts
Arrive ready with your questions. All of our instructors are bar veterans at the highest level. Now is your chance to ask them any questions that you may have about the world of Mixology.
