Founded in 2013 in Manhattan by two Belfast-born bartenders, The Dead Rabbit embodied the cocktail ethos of the time: a blending of history and modernity, a focus on quality matched by a lack of pretension, and an attention to detail in both presentation and flavor. By 2016, the bar had earned the accolade of “Best Bar in the World” from The World’s 50 Best Bars and Tales of the Cocktail. Sharing their expertise with the world, the founders penned The Dead Rabbit Drinks Manual in 2016, which believe it or not, won best cocktail book that year.
