About this Event
A morning of play and exploration in the peaceful Cockaynes Woods awaits! Explore the reserve as we take a nature walk from the parking site to our woodland area (paths are slightly uneven but wide enough to accommodate pushchairs). At our woodland area we will look for mini-beasts, swing in the hammock, build dens, climb trees, create natural crafts, and discover lots more!
Most suitable for children aged 5+. For neurodivergent children and their siblings only.
Before booking, please email [email protected] to assess suitability of the session for your child's needs and to receive a social story about the event. Information about arrival and parking will be emailed to participants a few days prior to the event.
Please note, that there will be dogs being walked onsite and there is no access to toilet facilities. Dogs are not permitted to attend this event.
The woodland site is just under a 0.5 km walk from the from the parking area. The route which we will take includes a slightly uneven gravel track and dirt paths. Paths are wide enough to accommodate pushchairs.
Old clothes and comfortable shoes suitable for getting muddy/wet. Waterproofs advised, depending on the weather.
Children must be accompanied by an adult for the whole session.
We are able to offer a limited number of free places for families in receipt of universal credit. Please contact our education officer directly if you are eligible and would like to claim a space.
