Coastal Walk Tour

Tuesday, September 10th

2 PM

Tour starts at Prospect & Cave Streets at the top of the outdoor stairs overlooking Goldfish Point.

Join historian Carol Olten for a nature and history walk along one of La Jolla’s most legendary trails for stories on mystical caves, a bridge named after the devil and an artist who vanished with his house in the days of yore. Enjoy spectacular views of the North Shore and Scripps Pier as you ramble along high cliffs as waves lap the sand below - a journey once enjoyed by Kumeyaay natives thousands of years past. Learn about the professor who once dug steps to the cave named Sunny Jim to make money from tourists, La Jolla’s famous jumper who risked his life in free fall into the ocean to entertain people on the 4th of July and how famous Wizard of Oz author L. Frank Baum was inspired to imagine sea fairies in the underwater wonderland below.
