Dear Parents & Carers,I’m genuinely excited to offer these five days of focused work—helping students engage
with new material, encouraging them to be their very best, and of course, ensuring we have
plenty of fun along the way!
I have worked with many of you for quite a few years now, and have loved watching and
sharing your dance journey. I thank you and your teachers for your continued trust in my
ability to bring out the very best in your dancers.
It’s a huge advantage for children to have a fair and reasonable grasp of the syllabus content
before their regular classes begin. Those who are already familiar with the material tend to
pick up corrections much more quickly than those still trying to absorb the content for the
first time. Time and again, we've seen improved results from students who take part in this
kind of initiative.
I’m sure your child will come home each day with at least one wild story about something
Mrs. D said or did in class! My teaching style isn’t exactly ‘run of the mill’—but over the
past 45 years, I’ve had the privilege of learning from some of the very best and have
adapted a wide range of strategies to make the learning process both effective and
enjoyable.
A quick note: The goal of this week is to cover as much of the syllabus as possible. Each
teacher and studio brings their own flair and focus to exercises once they've been
introduced. The fine-tuning and individual stylistic details will come later with their regular
teacher. So if your child notices something done slightly differently in their usual class, rest
assured—it’s all part of the process, and we’re all working toward the same goal: supporting
your dancer’s growth.
Much Love Mrs Dx
