About this Event
When done well, coaching is a key component of building teacher capacity and improving student learning. Each of our Coaching into Content workshops is designed to support both the practice of coaching and a knowledge of content.
We will first focus on enhancing our coaching practices to create meaningful partnerships with teachers. We will explore how adult Learners learn and the pieces that must be in place to create opportunities for adults to learn. This will include developing an understanding of the language we use in coaching work, the ways we might partner through planning our co-teaching, and ways we might partner with teachers outside of the classroom for intentional planning work.
Then we will unpack how instructional coaching is used to support teachers in utilizing best practices and the most recent research when planning for instruction. This process will also include an opportunity to consider where teachers are in they're learning journey and what next step might make the most sense for them. This strengths-based approach to coaching into content creates a safe progression for coaches to support all teachers no matter where they are in their journey.
