Joining us to sepak on the topic is Candice Campbell-Behm. Candice, who holds a master’s degree in sports psychology, has an extensive background as a high-performance figure skater, training in Ontario and Alberta, Canada. She has excelled as a national competitor and as a coach at both national and international levels. In addition to her achievements in figure skating, Candice has a strong background in high school sports, where she captained various teams and competed in numerous provincial championships across multiple sports. Her accomplishments include earning quad gold distinctions and receiving multiple awards from organizations like Skate Canada, Skate Alberta, and The Glencoe Club.
Since 2000, Candice has been serving as a strength and conditioning coach at The Glencoe Club and is a mentor coach with Skate Canada. She holds various fitness certifications and coaching credentials. Her family also boasts impressive athletic achievements: her husband is a former university tennis player who captained his team, and her son, Nathan, was a first-round draft pick in the Western Hockey League by the Kamloops Blazers. Nathan is a versatile athlete who has also competed in baseball, representing Canada in two Babe Ruth World Series events and won the U17 long drive championship.
With over 30 years of coaching experience, Candice has successfully guided athletes in figure skating and hockey power skating to championship victories, including at a hockey prep school. She has a keen interest in mental performance and continuously evolves her coaching methods by integrating scientific knowledge with practical experience. In addition to her coaching, Candice serves as a course instructor at Mount Royal University, where she leverages her extensive experience to achieve proven results across various sports, assisting athletes at grassroots, collegiate, and professional levels.
