Here, The Wash meets the North Sea giving an excellent venue for passage migrants. Warblers, Spotted Redshank, both Godwits, Curlew, winter ducks and geese are likely. Habitats include foreshore, dunes, mudflats, pines, saltmarsh, freshwater and grazing marsh.

Admission charge: members of Norfolk Wildlife Trust- free, non-members- £4.
Facilities: 6 hides, visitor centre, toilets, cafe, shop.
Distances and accessibility: 3 hides are very close to the Visitor Centre. A popular option is to walk east along the Coast Path as far as Thornham Harbour (1 mile). 3 more hides are about 2 miles away at Holme Marsh, accessed via Holme village. The reserve has some sections of boardwalk/hardened paths leading to one accessible hide. From the car park, it is possible to access the Norfolk Coast Path via a hardened path. This runs adjacent to the reserve and has some sections of easy access boardwalk.
