About this Event
Co-operatives are the original ethical businesses and organisations: democratic, rooted in member and worker well-being, equitable, resiliant, keeping profits local - and helping communities thrive.
With communities and cities in crisis what co-operatives can offer in 2024/2025 is more relevant than ever.
So where are the co-op businesses in the city of Glasgow?
This event brings together Glasgow co-operatives from all sectors, elected Council members, Council officers and other Glasgow residents passionate about co-operation.
We’ll discover Glasgow’s diverse co-operative sector; get to grips with what a co-op actually is; find out about 'the co-operative advantage' that makes us more resilient; and explore together how co-operatives and co-operative working practice can help address some of our city’s biggest issues.
The final part of the morning will be spent working collaboratively - on how co-ops can help the Council deliver on its programmes; and what the Council can do to support co-operatives and co-operation in the city - to build a stronger, more empowered and resilient Glasgow.
With refreshments and a FREE buffet networking lunch.
This event has been made possible with the support of Baillie Anthony Carroll.
With thanks to Glasgow City Council for sponsoring the event catering.
