We are inviting prospective families to check out our Deerfield Homeschool Co-op at the recreation center. We currently offer 2 learning group options.
The main group is open to any school aged children (K and up) and their younger siblings.
This year we successfully launched a new sub group in our co-op: “Roots Scholars” are for older children who are interested in diving deeper into the academic side of our weekly topics. Students must be at least 8yrs old to participate in this group.
This is an inclusive setting and anyone who feels this is the right fit for their child is welcome!
Childhood Roots Co-op offers intentional learning activities; integrating literature, art, music, science and sensory experiences. Each week includes group time where students will participate in a focus lesson, followed by various activities for students to explore and expand upon their learning. However our time together will always evolve overtime to meet the interests and needs of students and their families.
I am a certified educator who has created an opportunity for like minded families to come together once a week to play and learn together.
I hold a strong value of time outdoors and believe nature offers a rich setting that stimulates a developing child’s mind and body in the most unexpected ways. We spend a lot of time outdoors and in all weather!
I believe teachers/parents are partners, nurturers, and guides that help facilitate the exploration of children’s interests.
That children build strength, self-confidence, and learn to manage risks in unrestrictive play environments.

This will be a very informal outdoor meet and play. My hope is that the children can enjoy some free play together and the adults will have an opportunity to chat. Then you can get a feel if this group is the right fit for your family.
