Co-design with Nature

Introduction

A collaboration between The Inceptery and Climate Designers for SDW 2024. We will be co-hosting an event under the “design community” track - open to all disciplines both design-related and beyond.

About

This one-day workshop aims to equip designers and other professionals with the knowledge, skills, and perspectives necessary to navigate the complex sustainbilty challenges currently we face and will continue to face. We will explore how design can align with nature, preserving ecosystems & biodiversity while meeting the evolving needs of our communities.

As nations grapple with the enduring impacts of human activity on our planet and society, it becomes increasingly imperative to foster a deeper understanding of our interconnectedness with nature.

In our pursuit of advancing human well-being - longevity, quality of life and education - we often overlook the critical importance of the health of our planet. Envisioning a path forward for societal progress demands a reevaluation of our relationship with nature.

If you have previously attended the BIODIVERSITY FRESK, please ensure you indicate this when registering/buying your ticket.

1. Lunch/food is not provided within this workshop. There will be a 1.5 hour break where you can go out to find your food or bring your own to eat.
2. In line with our approach to managing our own impact, we encourage you to use reusable containers - including drink refill containers (water refill is available at NDC) and food containers of your own, where possible.
3. If we have sufficient sign-ups we may provide some light snacks to share in the afternoon but this will be decided closer to the time and is dependent on our team capacity.
4. Whilst there is a small charge to attend, this covers basic materials to run the workshop. No profits are made from this event and is part of the Design Community Track as part of Singapore Design Week 2024.
5. By attending this workshop you understand that photos and recordings (which may include you, your face, voice) maybe made for the purposes of promotion and social media. If you do not wish to appear in these, please indicate this on the registration form when purchasing your ticket.
