In honor of Indigenous People's Day, the Playscape is proud to welcome Michigan-based, indigenous author, Julie Buchholtz. Julie will read from her award-winning book, Who Am I. Written from an Indigenous perspective, Who Am I tells the story of a little brown-skinned girl who asks her Big Brown Mama, who am I? Big Mama explains her girls connection to the plants, animals, and organisms—to Mother Earth. In the end, the little girl realizes her significance, understanding that she is not so little after all. Thanks to a generous donor, 30 copies of Julie's book will be given to the first 30 Zone families to enter! Any books left over will be distributed to families who reside outside of The CNP Zone.
This event is FREE to attend and no registration is required. We do gently suggest a $5 donation for families who reside outside of The CNP Zone to help sustain programs like this one. No one will be prompted to donate and no one will be turned away. Donations can be dropped in the donation box at the Welcome Table.
