This year the Central & North Florida and South Florida HIMSS Advocacy Groups are focused on four main policy areas:
- Interoperability
- A I (Artificial Intelligence)
- Cybersecurity
Florida Proclamation
The Garner Group is working with Florida Senator Harrell, Chair of Senate HHS Appropriations, in drafting Proclamation for the State to recognize the value of these policy issues to the state's healthcare system. The Proclamation also serve as an educational tool for policymakers about health policy issues that they may be voting on regarding Medicaid Budget needs and changes in reimbursement.

Advocacy Days At the Capital
- H IMSS members and guest speakers meet one-on-one with Legislative Members and staff on the key policy issues: AI, Interoperability, and Cybersecurity.
- Presentation of the Proclamation in the Florida Senate Chamber, all HIMSS members and participants will be recognized.
- Testify/Participate in the HHS Senate and/or House Committee Meetings.
