Join us on March 9th 2025 at the Cneasú Endometriosis Awareness Month Women's Health Event with the Vicky Phelan Portrait with Guest Panel including our main speaker David Brennan who will give a presentation on the Vicky Phelan Portrait and Campaign Tour.
Vicky Phelan, was a prominent women’s health advocate who unearthed one of the biggest medical and political scandals of our times and who passed away on November 14th 2022 at the age of 48 years old.
We are thrilled to be displaying the portrait on the Sunday of our full weekend Cneasú Retreat to educate people about cervical cancer while also campaigning for change and improvements in Women's Health.
The Triptych Portrait was painted by Irish artist Vincent Devine who was inspired by Vicky’s incredible courage. His aim was to convey the tragedies and the joys in Vicky’s life, through symbolism in the anatomy of her body and different objects. The portrait was purchased at a charity auction by Vicky’s lifelong friend and fellow Kilkenny native David Brennan. The two grew up together and their families share a close bond. David wanted to ensure the painting remained close to Vicky’s family and friends.
Cneasú which means Healing in the Irish Language hosted Ireland's first Endometriosis Awareness Month Retreat in the beautiful Ballygarry Estate & Spa, Tralee, Co. Kerry (Ire) in March 2024 to host a space to bring women living with Endometriosis together to connect and retreat whilst creating awareness about Endometriosis which is a Chronic Systemic Inflammatory Disease that impacts more than 155,000 Irish women and 200million women worldwide.
The event will begin with a Presentation from David Brennan followed by Guest Panel discussion.
The event will finish at 1pm followed by an awareness walk at 2pm
We will then meet at 2pm for an Awareness Walk around the 2km Estate and Wetlands.
