Unleash building possibilities by learning to use the CNC Router!In this 3-hour class at Saskatoon Makerspace, brought to you by Great Western Saw, students will learn the fundamentals of computer numerical control (CNC) technology and how to operate the shop's CNC router. Participants will learn how to use software to design a simple project, generate tool paths, and transfer their designs to the CNC router. The class will cover topics such as bit selection, material hold-down, and basic troubleshooting. Through hands-on practice and guided instruction, students will create their own small project on the CNC router. This class is suitable for beginners with little to no experience with CNC technology. All materials and tools will be provided. By the end of the class, students will have a foundational understanding of CNC technology and will be able to continue exploring this exciting field.
Please wear closed toed shoes and tie up long hair. Ear plugs and safety glasses will be provided.
This class is 3 hours long, with an optional 4th hour if the participants would like extra practice with an instructor.
* Participants must me be 14 years of age or older, ages 14 - 16 must be accompanied by a legal guardian. *
