Kia ora!The Canterbury Mountaineering Club is kicking off a new initiative for anyone who identifies as a woman or is non-binary to come along to our new CMC Women's Night!
This event is for everyone, no matter your level of experience in mountaineering. The goal is to create a chill, supportive space where we can share knowledge and connect – with a special focus on building mentor-mentee opportunities to get more women out in the mountains. You don't need to be a CMC member to attend.
We’ll be holding these evenings every two months. Each time, we'll have either a speaker on a topic or some group discussions. Here’s a sneak peek at some of the topics: menstruation in the wild, glacier travel, and gear advice.
The first evening will be an info/open night. We want to introduce the idea, hear what support people want, and have some fun socialising!
The venue only has capacity for 60 people, so we will have free tickets for this event to manage numbers.
