The Center for Mexican American Studies (CMAS) invites you to its 20th-anniversary Distinguished Lecture featuring Isa of Aprende Peque.
Aprende Peque is an educational Spanish‑language platform directed to children ages zero to five years old. Created by a team of Latina women, with a mission to offer 100% Spanish-language educational content that preserves and celebrates Latin culture. Through videos, music, interactive activities, and culturally rich storytelling, and guided by Isa’s expertise as an early childhood and special education teacher specializing in speech and language development, Aprende Peque supports early language, cognitive, and emotional growth for young children in a fun, meaningful, and culturally affirming way. Currently, the program has over 1 million subscribers on YouTube.
Isa Muñoz is a Mexican early childhood educator and speech‑language specialist with more than a decade of experience educating young children and their families. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Special Education with a focus in Hearing and Language from the Benemérita Escuela Normal Urbana Federal Fronteriza (2014) and later completed her master’s degree in education with a specialization in Special Education at Centro de Enseñanza Técnica y Superior Universidad (2022). Throughout her professional career, she has worked directly with preschool-aged children and their families, focusing on language development and neurocognitive, social, and emotional skills during early childhood.She is the co-founder and host of Aprende Peque.
The program is bilingual (Spanish and English). This is an academic lecture.
