About this Event
Digital Void is now CLUB INTERNET—a fresh take on the same mission to explain online culture to the masses and offer a welcoming space for all internet lovers, skeptics, and fanatics. We’re an internet literacies collective exploring the online, offline, and in-between spaces that make our culture run, for better and (often) for worse.
Presenting the second installment of My Online Awakening, in which we go deeper into the rabbit hole of our collective memory of the World Wide Web. We’ll be hearing from several internet culture experts about the online spaces that informed their childhoods, adolescence, and adulthood, and their lasting impacts in culture. Whether you’re chronically offline or Extremely Online™, it’s guaranteed that you’ll learn something new (and have a lot of fun doing it).
This is a show for everyone who developed parasocial relationships with YouTubers ~before~ stan Twitter, dreamed of working at Buzzfeed in a world sans TikTok, and spent their adolescent afternoons on Tumblr instead of TV.
This event will NOT be filmed; it is exclusively in-person, so if you missed the last one, now’s your chance to see it for yourself!
