Clown School with Britt Small (Atomic Vaudeville, Victoria)Connect, explore and play with your inner clown performer!
This workshop builds the fundamentals of clown work in the tradition of the Pochinko technique developed by the great Canadian clown Richard Pochinko who combined both European and First Nations traditions of masked and clown performance. The workshop includes exercises that focus on increasing spontaneity, playfulness and stage craft.
Participants will develop their performance abilities, as clowning is an essential tool in many theatrical disciplines.
The workshop at-a-glance :
The workshop includes game warm-ups, work on levels of tension and various emotional states using our bodies and voices, exploration of colours as modes for sounds and physicalities, "making contact/present yourself' exercise and finally simple solo and duo, 1-3 minutes long, performances with a prop or a task.

Britt Small - the creative director of Victoria's renowned vaudeville theatre company atomic vaudeville, with multiple internationally touring productions like "ride the cyclone" and the clown teacher of JIMBO the Drag Clown and Ingrid Hanson
