About this Event
Here is a unique opportunity to explore Clough Island in the St. Louis River Estuary! We will travel to the island by boat (bring your own, or access a free program canoe) to spend a half day hand-pulling small invasive Buckthorn plants in support of a major habitat restoration effort. We’ll make some time to take in the view and get to know the unique ecology of the island up close and personal. Please dress for the weather, wear sturdy footwear and long sleeves. Bring a shovel, gloves, bag lunch, and water bottle with you!
We will meet at (Clyde Ave, Duluth, MN) at 9:30am before paddling over to Clough Island.
This volunteer opportunity is highly physical, and requires the ability to bend over, pull, and lift objects repeatedly. Please use your discretion in deciding whether you are able to participate.
