Cloud 909 ~ pres Jex Opolis (Dekmantel\/Bad Timin') B2B Lauren Hansom
Cloud 909 returns with a blockbuster tale of friendship and rhythm starring Canuck dynamo Jex Opolis and local hero Lauren Hansom. This June, the pair will direct a bacchanal of nocturnal balaeria bigger than Ben Hur in the Emerald City’s untz-untz music Mecca, The Bridge Hotel, with support from Adi Toohey and Cloud 909 DJs.
Jex Opolis the Canadian DJ, producer and multi-instrumental maestro returns south for the first time since the 22/23 midsummer. The Gregory Peck of the Yamaha CS has over a decade of releases across labels such as Dekmantel, Running Back, Planet Trip and his own imprint Good Timin’, and has impressed festival crowds from Hopkins to Horst with his establishing a signature style of analog lushness, italo flourish and proggy sense of humour. Waarang’s Sofia Loren of rotary blends Lauren Hansom joins the bill with her long time friend and co-star to beat the big chill of our hemisphere’s winter. An international circuit stalwart and all-seeing selector, Hansom brings a breadth to her practice scarcely practiced in the field. Between them, these two have the range of Meryl Streep and the presence of Henry Fonda. This double feature guarantees back to back heat with double indemnity.
Doof doyenne Adi Toohey is a Sydney stalwart with the selection chops of a butcher. She joins the bill to carve even more value out of your ticket.Cloud 909 DJs Tobl3rone, Jesse Belters, El Discotheque, Jejemon & DJ Toadfish round out the lineup.
Cloud 909’s vision will reach new heights at this latest dance, as we bring Jejemon’s original VJ stylings inspired by early 3D animation, deep net brain-rot and utopian screensavers to the big room. Do not delay, do not demur, do NOT go to Europe: get your ticket to the winter’s hottest bill.
This event will take place on unceded Aboriginal land. We pay our respects to the Gadigal people of the Eora Nation and acknowledge their custodianship of these lands and waters; their culture and language; and their elders – past, present and emerging.
