Week 1. Clothing Design and Construction.
Host: Anita Pilkington
Info: The attendees will choose which type of garment they want to make. Patterns are available, and there is a choice of a simple top style, skirt, trousers, or a waistcoat. Measurements will be taken for the correct size of the pattern to be used. Fabric selection will be made, donated fabric is available, or the students can purchase fabric of their own choice. Discussion will take place regarding any necessary trimmings that may need to be purchased.

Week 2. Clothing Design and Construction.
Host: Anita Pilkington
Info: The attendees will cut out their garments and learn garment-cutting skills. They will then start to construct their garment.

Week 3. Clothing Design and Construction.

Info: The attendees will continue to construct their garment. They will obtain skills to sew and overlock seams.

Week 4. Clothing Design and Construction.
Info: The attendees will continue to construct their garments. They will obtain skills such as inserting zips or elastic into the waist of trousers.

Week 5. Clothing Design and Construction.
Info: The attendees will complete their garments. They will obtain skills such as hemming and pressing. At the end of the course, they will own a garment that they have completed from start to finish.

Week 1. Introduction to Clothing Design and Construction.
Host: Anita Pilkington
Info: In week one, the attendees will choose which item they want to make. The choice of garments to make includes a simple top or trouser design. Measurements will be taken to ensure the correct size of the pattern that is required. Fabric choices will be made, and donated fabric is available for use. Just so you know – any necessary pattern amendments will be completed. Discussion will take place regarding any further fabrics and trimmings that will be required to make the garment.

Info: In week two, the attendees will cut out the garment that they are going to make. They will then start to construct their garment.
