Swapping your clothing is one antidote to fast fashion as it promotes the reduction, reuse, and recycling of clothing!Large organizations often end up discarding most of their clothing donations into landfill, but at Sustainable Clothing Co nothing goes to waste...
This December we have partnered with the Adelaide Sustainability Centre and invite you to come and swap your clothing at a new location – The Joinery, 111 Franklin Street, Adelaide CBD. The Joinery community is connected by a love for nature and sustainable living, and a desire to lead positive change.
HOW THE SWAP WORKS:
Simply gather a minimum of 5-10 pieces of clothing which are in good, wearable condition (the more you bring along the better!) with $5 for entry into The Joinery, between 11am-5pm, and pick up some new-to-you clothing to take home!
The number of items you bring in is the same number of items you can take home. If you would like to take any additional items home, please ask our friendly staff on the day.
At the end of the swap, the majority of the remaining clothing will be donated to Café Outside the Square (supporting homelessness, ex-prisoners and women's shelters), along with Housing Choices SA (provide safe, secure and affordable rental housing coupled with resources and support where needed for people who are on low incomes and for a range of reasons, may be vulnerable) and the Anti Poverty Network (alliance of people affected and concerned by the effects of poverty and unemployment in Australia).
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
Accepted items for swapping include both ladies and men's clothing: Tops, T-shirts, pants, jackets, sweaters, dresses, skirts, shirts, blouses, crop tops, bralettes, leather, denim, knitwear, blazers, coats, shorts, bodysuits, play-suits, jumpsuits, vests, leggings, sportswear, hats, bags, purses, shoes, jewelry, scarves, belts.
Excluded items include formal wear, underwear, socks, babies clothing and children’s wear.
Please note, the clothes swap is not a dumping ground for stained, ripped, unwearable clothing, instead ask us how we can recycle your damaged goods and consider bringing items to the swap that you would give to family and friends.
Ticketing: Please pre-book your ticket via Eventbrite: tickets will be able available for cash purchase at the door on the day (subject to capacity).

Facitlites: The Foodprint Experience Cafe will be open 7.30am-3pm to cater to your food and beverage needs (not included with ticket) whilst you're here on the day. Toilets are accessible on the ground floor of the building.
Parking: Street parking is available on Franklin Street and Morphett Street, and the nearest pay carparks can be found on Franklin Street, in the U-Park (entry via Andrew Street) and above the new Adelaide Bus Depot (entry on Grote Street).
