Closing Program: R. Eric McMaster's "Drift"

Drift is a video installation that sees two musicians drift apart from one another physically and compositionally. For the accompanying performance, two musicians will play a duet influenced by the score from Drift. However, the score, originally composed for the project by Danny Clay, has been reworked to effectively play in reverse. The revised composition will have the musicians sonically come together in its progression rather than drifting apart. The 12-minute piece will be performed by Miami-local musicians, Lee Fearson and Akins Allman, who will be playing on custom-built, conjoined violins created by the artist.
