Daniel Arredondo is a renowned Argentine Tango dancer and teacher based in Charlotte, North Carolina. He was born in San Rafael, Mendoza, Argentina, and is credited with bringing authentic Argentine Tango to Charlotte in the year 2000.
Daniel is the founder of Passion For Tango, an organization dedicated to teaching authentic Argentine Tango. His tango and his teaching of the art form are enriched by his background in martial arts, modern dance, folkloric dance, and competitive ballroom dance. In addition, his childhood memories of watching Argentinean tangueros inform his dancing to this day.
Over the years, Daniel has studied with several world-renowned tango dancers and has taught tango workshops in many cities around the world. He has also collaborated in multiple opportunities with the Blumenthal Performing Arts Center Education Institute of Charlotte, the Levine Museum of the New South, the Mint Museum, the Latin American Coalition, and the Arts and Science Council of Charlotte.
Daniel has performed in many national tango events including the Argentine Embassy in Washington DC, Atlanta Tango Exchange, Charlotte Latin Fest, Fiesta del Pueblo in Raleigh, Spoleto Tango Festival in Charleston, Asheville Regional, Fiesta Latina in Asheville, Charlotte French Festival, Charlotte International Arts Festival, and Tosco Music Party.
In collaboration with Madeleine Hackney, PhD, Daniel has co-taught Parkinson’s and Adapted Tango, a continuous education class in the NC Area Health Education Center. He also DJs in major tango events across the nation.
Meanwhile, Daniel has been hosting and continues to support an ongoing Monday night class and practica for more than 20 years, Charlotte's longest-running tango event, offering weekly classes for dancers of all levels.
