CR LA's Launch event for The Abolitionist newspaper Issue #38 & CA Pr*son Closure Campaign
About this Event

Join Critical Resistance Los Angeles (CR LA) in Korea Town on Saturday, December 10 for our chapter’s re-launch community event, supporting the latest release of Newspaper (#38) on labor struggles & Pr*son industrial complex (PIC) abolition, and connecting Los Angeles communities to the statewide campaign for Pr*son closure.

At the event, you’ll hear from a few speakers about the CA Pr*son closure campaign, how communities across Los Angeles are impacted, as well as what’s inside the latest issue of The Abolitionist, and how the newspaper can be used as a concrete organizing tool across Pr*son walls.

In addition to speakers and discussion, we’ll do some art-making and campaign activities to learn about CA’s Pr*son boom, and make posters and banners for a statewide mobilization to Sacramento in January 2023 to bring our demands for Pr*son closure to the state capitol.

Come learn about how Pr*son closure is an urgent priority for Los Angeles communities, and support radical political education and organizing resources for imprisoned people!
