This hybrid event will be held at the Health Sciences Innovation Building (HSIB) 1670 E Drachman St, Tucson, AZ 85721, and there is an option to join virtually via Zoom. Whether you're a seasoned clinical research coordinator or new to the field, this bootcamp will provide valuable insights and practical knowledge to excel in your role. Don't miss this opportunity to network with industry professionals and elevate your career in clinical research!
Co-hosted by Franz Rischard, DO, professor of Medicine in the Division of Pulmonary, Allergy, Critical Care & Sleep Medicine, and interim associate dean for Clinical & Translational Medicine, and the Clinical & Translational Sciences Research Center the bootcamp aims to review basic terminology and responsibilities tailored to various CRC levels (CRC1, CRC2, etc.). The workshop will familiarize attendees with different types of human research studies, such as cohort studies, registries, and clinical trials, while also addressing the CRC's responsibilities in clinical trial reporting, including identifying and managing suspected Unexpected Serious Adverse Reactions (SUSAR). Additionally, the workshop will provide insights into the clinical trial audit process and accountability, including the development of Corrective and Preventive Action Plans (CAPAs). A key focus will be on improving coordination and collaboration between research staff, CRCs, and Banner Research administration. This bootcamp is designed to address identified gaps in education and foster stronger connections among CRCs, research teams, and administrative entities, ultimately enhancing the quality and efficiency of clinical research in Southern Arizona and beyond.
