The Clinical Medical Assistant (CMA) program trains students in the skills necessary for employment in any modern medical facility. Students will become proficient in a variety of clinical and laboratory procedures and many administrative roles. Students will study medical terminology, phlebotomy, basic EKG, pharmacology, and medical billing.Course Information:
Students will spend 214 hours in the classroom (117 lecture and 97 lab hours) and 100 hours in clinicals (externship) to obtain proficiency in the skills necessary for performing the duties of a clinical medical assistant. The total program is 314 hours.
Occupation Overview:
Graduates of this program may find employment in clinics, hospitals, and laboratories where both administrative and technician skills are required. CMAs perform routine administrative and clinical tasks to keep physician, podiatry, chiropractic, and other health practitioner officers running smoothly.
