About this Event
What can we design to protect each other from smoke, fires, extreme heat and cold, flooding, earthquakes and other environmental emergencies?
Join us in co-designing small-scale interventions, retrofits, and brand new designs that could be integrated in our Metro Vancouver climate response planning and action.
While the effects of climate change increase rapidly, it doesn't feel like our cities are taking quick enough action to build and prepare plans to protect residents in emergencies. What might community driven small scale builds and and retrofits look like?
This summer, Urbanarium ran a poll tournament asking which climate solutions participants’ thought would have the biggest impact. Alongside the poll was a Journal Entry that imagined Climate Response Centres transforming the built environment providing the adaptive vision, community space, respite and resources necessary for change in weather.
Please take our new poll where we ask: which climate event do you think we need to prepare for most urgently?
This studio is open to everyone, refreshments from Callister Brewing & Craft Soda will be served!
