About this Event
Delivered by Rachel Hammond of Edge Landscaping, this course covers regenerative methods of growing food that are centered entirely on building soils; quality and quantity, without the use of chemicals.
By following the methods described, you can create healthy, W**d free and nutritious soil full of life. With the majority of the course based in the on-site market garden, you will leave with a series of practical ideas on how to create your own 'Climate Resilient Garden'.
Topics covered will include:
- Building soil quantity
- Building soil quality
- Increasing pest resilience
- Natural feeds and fertility without chemicals
- Reducing your own work load
- Increasing drought resilience
This benefits food growing as it increases your crop quantity, health and speed of growth, as well as minimising pest and disease damage.
All refreshments are provided, with an optional tour of the Grange Project included for those who haven't had the opportunity to visit before.
Rachel is a Landscape Architect & Urban Designer specialising in regenerative food production. She designs spaces for food, soil health and wildlife and biodiversity, as well as maximising harvests and reducing the work needed to achieve it.
