About this Event
Climate Jobs, Climate Justice: Working together for the changes we need
Saturday, November 9th
Location: Peak Theatre, Owen Building, S1 1WB
Join local trade union and community activists for a day of workshops exploring how to redesign the jobs we do in South Yorkshire for the Climate and Nature Crisis. This day conference will be followed by a year-long process, with support for teams to organise for the changes we need.
- We need Climate Jobs that make our homes, transport and food zero carbon, and that care for people and planet.
- We must not push the costs onto workers and communities in the Global South, but instead build solidarity internationally.
- We need safe, well-rewarded, skilled, secure work for all who want it, with a say in our future - our work must build real wealth for communities.
Our day conference will look at how we can organise for this and build links with our allies. We will identify the next steps in South Yorkshire and build teams to organise around the issues in workplaces and communities.
The registration fee is £3, and please add a donation if you can - suggested £2-£15.
