We are pleased to announce that Richard R. Verma, Deputy Secretary of State for Management and Resources, will be joining us as part of the Wenger Family Lecture Series on International Business and Finance on Monday, October 21st, 2024 from 5:00 - 6:00 pm ET, with a reception to follow from 6:00 - 7:30 pm ET.
This event will feature a discussion with Deputy Secretary Richard R. Verma and Alyssa Ayres, Dean of the Elliott School of International Affairs focusing on "Climate Change at the Crossroads: National Security and Local Governance Challenges." Deputy Secretary Verma will highlight the significant impact of climate change on global security and underscore the importance of integrating climate considerations into foreign policy. He will outline U.S. government efforts, including the newly released U.S. Framework for Climate Resilience and Security, and various initiatives like PREPARE, to build resilience and tackle climate-induced challenges at the community level.
