About this Event

Climate change is here, and here to stay. Future projections are looking bleak unless we radically change the way we live and work, and quickly. Buildings, and how we use them, have an important role to play.

This presentation by BRANZ climate change scientists will focus on the basics, including:

1. Why the fuss about climate change?

2. How is a building carbon footprint calculated?

3. What does the carbon footprint of New Zealand buildings look like, and how does this compare internationally?

4. How much carbon can we emit from our new buildings?

This presentation is an introduction to the broad issues and will set a sound basis for understanding building requirements that look likely to become mandatory.
