We are thrilled to be exhibiting the finalists of our Climate Canvas art competition at Matter Gallery - A materials-based alternative platform for visual arts with a different focus, a new time-limited project for Tauranga Moana designed to stimulate creative thinking and making.

From Tuesday 25th to Saturday 29th you can explore the artworks between 11am and 3pm each day.

Kim Fifield
Kim is a visual artist with a focus on ecosophy and futures thinking. Within her practice she explores the potential of alternative eco-friendly matter such as root systems and algae-based bioplastic, and repurposes discarded print material in her decollaged art works. Completing a Master of Fine Arts (1st Class Hons) in 2024, Kim was a finalist in the 2023 National Contemporary Art Awards and the 2022 Miles Art Awards, and has had solo exhibitions and participated in group exhibitions locally and internationally. She also works as a book illustrator and graphic designer.

Liz Cooper
Liz is a curator, writer and consultant in visual arts, with a particular interest in contemporary craft. Her activities are wide ranging: recent projects include work with Creative Bay of Plenty, Design-Nation UK, Embroidery magazine, Font Tauranga, Park2Park Charitable Trust and University of Waikato.
