About this Event
Beginners and experience folks welcome! We're embroidering a climate haiku feelings quilt to be featured in the Climate Imaginarium house on Governors Island.
As activists, artists, and community organizers, we’ve experienced a spectrum of emotions around the climate crisis. Through this installation, we hope you will have a sense of possibility for the future so we can continue to do this important work as a community. We also hope you will feel validated and seen in both your despair and your hope. These poems are written to our community: our mother, our brother, our friends, to sustain them in a vision for another world. This quilt is also for you, to keep you warm on hopeless nights and to see yourself through stages of grief and possibility.
We suggest a $5 donation at the door, but no one will be turned away for lack of funds.
